I had some time today to poke around Google+ and I think they got something right.
The experience is intuitive and smooth. I really like the "circles" feature. Facebook's news feed concept remains at the center, but the separation between true friends and "people I don't know well" is an important one. With Circles, Google got the logic right. It's easy to see who belongs where and change things about.
The invite feature could use some work as the message dialogue was lacking. Did I just send you an invite? I don't know for sure (I had to check it).
The integration with Picasa makes photo sharing and management a breeze for me and that's a big plus.
We expected something good and this is definitely in the right direction. Go Google!
